Illuminar defeat Sprout to win Games Clash Masters

Illuminar have been crowned champions of Games Clash Masters after a 3-0 victory over Sprout (Mirage 16-13, Overpass 16-14, Train 16-12) in the best-of-five grand finals.
The grand final kicked off on Mirage, where Illuminar began proceedings with a pistol victory on the offensive side thanks to a triple-kill from Paweł "innocent" Mocek. Sprout answered back immediately, though, with the Germans soon taking control of the map to head into halftime with a 10-5 advantage. However, as the two squads swapped sides, Illuminar kicked it up a gear on the defence to lock down a commanding CT half and secure the opening map of the series 16-13.

The closely-contested matchup then headed in the direction of Overpass, with Illuminar continuing their momentum from the first map to earn an early lead. Denis "denis" Howell led the charge for Sprout as they strung together significant rounds to secure the halftime edge, but the Polish squad would not bow out easily. The combination of innocent and Oskar "oskarish" Stenborowski turned the tide of the match back in the favour of Illuminar, with the Polish side grinding out the remaining rounds to clinch a tight 16-14 victory.
Illuminar took the series to Train in an attempt to close out the grand final with a swift 3-0 sweep, and all looked destined for just that as oskarish and his squad stormed to an 8-3 advantage. With defeat nearing, Sprout stepped their game up a notch, though, and soon found themselves in the lead at 12-9 after the halftime break. Despite the Germans’ comeback attempt, Illuminar was determined to not allow the series to go to a fourth map, and so buckled down and found a second wind and success on the defence. Spearheaded by innocent, the Polish side made their way to the magic number of sixteen rounds to lock down the series 3-0 and take home the Games Clash Master title.
